Unless you\u2019ve been living under a rock without access to basic cable, you likely know that Fox News mainly operates as the mouthpiece of the Republican Party. Over the last several years, that\u2019s meant a significant amount of the network\u2019s programming has involved painting Joe Biden<\/strong> as a cognitively impaired<\/a> criminal<\/a> who is deliberately destroying the country<\/a> and is either \u201ca puppet or he\u2019s being blackmailed<\/a>.\u201d So the fact that not one, but two of the network\u2019s hosts have declared in the last three days that the Republican Party has zero evidence to impeach the president is pretty, pretty, pretty embarrassing for the GOP.<\/p>\n On Monday, Fox & Friends<\/em> host Steve Doocy<\/strong> told viewers that despite months of probing, \u201cRepublicans at this point\u2026they have not connected the dots\u201d between Hunter Biden<\/strong>\u2019s alleged crimes<\/a> and Joe Biden. \u201cThey\u2019ve connected the dots, the Department of Justice did on Hunter, but they have not shown where Joe Biden did anything illegally.\u201d<\/p>\n This content can also be viewed on the site it originates<\/a> from.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Doocy\u2019s remarks came just days after his son, White House reporter Peter Doocy,<\/strong> called bullshit on Republicans\u2019 attempts to tie Joe Biden to his son, whose overseas activities have been an obsession of the right since Donald Trump<\/strong> tried to extort Ukraine into digging up dirt on the family<\/a>. \u201cThe House Oversight Committee has been at this for years, and they have so far not been able to provide any concrete evidence that Joe Biden personally profited from his son Hunter\u2019s overseas business,\u201d Doocy the younger said.<\/p>\n This content can also be viewed on the site it originates<\/a> from.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Despite pushback from Doocy & Son, Republicans appear to be full steam ahead with authorizing a formal impeachment inquiry into the president. Politico reported<\/a> on Monday that a whip count \u201cshows that a single Republican, Rep. Ken Buck<\/strong> (R-Colo.), opposes a vote scheduled for this week to formalize the impeachment inquiry,\u201d with other lawmakers, previously thought to be on the fence, \u201cnow either supportive or likely to support it, according to the tally, including a majority of Republicans who represent districts Biden carried in 2020.\u201d Speaking to reporters last week, House Speaker Mike Johnson<\/strong> said<\/a> he expected unanimous support from House Republicans despite the lack of evidence against the president. \u201cThis vote is not a vote to impeach President Biden,\u201d Johnson said. \u201cThis is a vote to continue the inquiry of impeachment, and that\u2019s a necessary constitutional step. I believe we\u2019ll get every vote that we have.\u201d<\/p>\n Last month,\u00a0The Washington Post<\/em>\u00a0reported<\/a> that Johnson effectively\u00a0admitted<\/a>, during a closed-door meeting with GOP lawmakers, that the impeachment push against Biden is entirely political and not actually based on evidence that the president committed high crimes and misdemeanors.
