Alyson Hannigan<\/strong><\/a> was not crowned the newest champion of Dancing With the Stars<\/em><\/a>, but she\u2019s grateful for all she\u2019s gained \u2014 and the weight she\u2019s lost \u2014 from her experience in the ballroom.<\/p>\n

The How I Met Your Mother<\/em> star, 49, shared side-by-side snaps to Instagram<\/a> of her pre-season promo picture and a shot from the DWTS finale on Tuesday, December 5. In both photos, Hannigan sported a silver fringe dress.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe before and after says it all,\u201d Hannigan wrote on Saturday, December 9. \u201cI lost 20 pounds of both weight and emotional baggage during my time on @dancingwiththestars.\u201d<\/p>\n

In her caption, Hannigan went on to credit her partner, professional dancer Sasha Farber<\/strong>, for aiding her in her journey. (The pair finished in fifth place<\/a> during the season 32 finale after performing a salsa redemption dance to \u201cGet on Your Feet\u201d by Gloria Estefan<\/strong> and freestyle to \u201cEnchanted (Taylor\u2019s Version)\u201d by Taylor Swift<\/strong> and \u201cPapi\u201d by Jennifer Lopez<\/strong>. Xochitl Gomez<\/strong> and Val Chmerkovskiy<\/strong> took first place.)<\/p>\n
