Sharon Osbourne<\/a> has slammed TV talent shows and their treatment of young contestants.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Sharon Osbourne won’t judge a talent show again<\/p>\n
The 71-year-old star was a judge on \u2018The X Factor\u2019 from 2004 to 2007, before returning in 2013, and again from 2016 to 2017, and also sat on the \u2018America\u2019s Got Talent\u2019 panel between 2007 to 2012, but she\u2019d never take on such a job again as she doesn\u2019t think the wellbeing of auditionees is prioritised in the way it should.<\/p>\n
She told Best magazine: \u201cI\u2019d never do a talent show again.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve come to realise that the way they\u2019re run isn\u2019t right.<\/p>\n
\u201cTake kids. It\u2019s not fair to put them through that schedule, that hard work.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThat\u2019s particularly true of reality-based shows.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe young people who appear on them are not mentally prepared for what is going to happen to them.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWhen they fall by the wayside, they get brushed aside.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDespite being brought in to both \u2018X Factor\u2019 and \u2018AGT\u2019 by Simon Cowell, Sharon insisted they aren\u2019t friends.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cSimon Cowell\u2019s never been a friend. I thank him for giving me opportunities- I did well by him and he did well by me. But he\u2019s never been a buddy-buddy.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWould I ring him for a chat? No, never.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cOn the other hand, I love Nicole Scherzinger. I absolutely idolise her. I\u2019m in awe of her talent.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cShe\u2019s got the biggest heart, an amazing woman.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cLouis Walsh is a complete poppet. He\u2019s a family friend.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd I just adore Gary Barlow.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBut Sharon famously never saw eye-to-eye with Dannii Minogue when the Australian pop star was a judge on \u2018X Factor\u2019 and she insisted they are too different to have been friends.<\/p>\n
\nShe explained: \u201cWe just have nothing in common.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI love women but there are some who don\u2019t love other women.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cDannii didn\u2019t care for me. Why? Possibly because some people don\u2019t like to hear the truth.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cSome women love to be around the guys. That\u2019s not me.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI love men but a lot of men don\u2019t care for women like me. They don\u2019t like a woman with a reputation for being a ballbuster.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cDannii\u2019s a flirt. Her way is not my way. The only thing we have in common is that we\u2019re both women.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
