Selena Gomez<\/strong> <\/a>clapped back at body-shamers who have attacked her appearance \u2014 and revealed that her lupus medication causes her weight fluctuations.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI tend to hold a lot of water weight and that happens very normally. And then when I\u2019m off of [my medication], I tend to lose weight,\u201d Gomez, 30, explained during a TikTok Live video that was shared via Twitter<\/a> on Thursday, February 16. \u201cI just wanted to say and encourage anyone out there who feels any sort of shame for exactly what they\u2019re going for and nobody knows the real story \u2014 I just want people to know that you\u2019re beautiful and you\u2019re wonderful and, yeah, maybe we have days where we feel like s\u2014t but I would much rather be healthy and take care of myself.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Only Murders in the Building<\/em> <\/a>star noted that her \u201cmedications are important\u201d and \u201care what helps me,\u201d adding, \u201c[I\u2019m] not a model, never will be. I think they\u2019re awesome, mind you, but I definitely, definitely am not that.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Gomez concluded the video by thanking her fans for \u201cunderstanding\u201d and \u201csupporting\u201d her before asking haters to keep the negativity at bay. \u201cAnd if not, go away, because honestly I don\u2019t believe in shaming people for body or anything,\u201d she said.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Wizards of Waverly Place<\/em> alum was first diagnosed with lupus in 2014. The Mayo Clinic defines the condition as \u201ca disease that occurs when your body\u2019s immune system attacks its own tissues and organs.\u201d Three years later, the Texas native underwent a kidney transplant, with her longtime friend Francia Raisa<\/strong><\/a> as her donor.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Gomez has since been open about her health struggles over the years and often clapped back at anyone who has criticized her body<\/a>. Last month, the \u201cBad Liar\u2019 singer made headlines for shutting down trolls who commented on her figure after the 2023 Golden Globes.
