Barbie, which hit theaters in July, earned more than $1.4 billion<\/a> at the box office. For his role of Ken, Gosling has received both critical and fan praise. He also earned his first-ever Billboard Hot 100 hit song<\/a> for \u201cI\u2019m Just Ken,\u201d which is up for Best Song Written for Visual Media at the 2024 Grammys<\/a>. However, Gerwig, 39, confessed it took some persuasion<\/a> to get Gosling to perform a musical number.<\/p>\n\u201cHe has a beautiful voice, and he\u2019s a beautiful dancer. We got there organically,\u201d the director told Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> in July. \u201cI think if I had said, \u2018I want you to sing and dance in this movie,\u2019 he would not have necessarily done that for me. But it was kind of that thing of boiling a lobster. I think by the time he was singing and dancing, he didn\u2019t even totally know how we had gotten there.
