It proved too large to tell in four but \u2014 as you\u2019ll see for yourselves \u2014 we are now hurtling toward our finale. Season 4 will be the penultimate season; season 5 will be the last.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Later that year, the Duffer Brothers opened up about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/pictures\/stranger-things-casts-most-candid-quotes-about-wills-sexuality\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">their vision for the final episodes<\/a> and addressed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/pictures\/stranger-things-season-4-what-to-remember-before-premiere\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the season 4 episode split.<\/a><\/p>\n<div id=\"news-block\">\n<div class=\"newsletter-form\">\n<div class=\"newsletter-signup__success\">\n<h3>Thank You!<\/h3>\n<p>You have successfully subscribed.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe original plan was to release it all at once again. But as we began turning over episodes, everyone began to feel the season was too big to be released in one batch \u2014 at nearly 13 hours, it is really more two seasons than one,\u201d they told <em>Variety<\/em> in May 2022 after Volume 1 dropped the first seven episodes. \u201cEpisode 7 is as big as any season finale we\u2019ve ever had, so it made sense to everyone involved to split the season there.
