Something you\u2019ve probably noticed about former president and current presidential candidate Donald Trump<\/strong> is that he lies about everything all the time. Whether it\u2019s claiming that Ivanka Trump<\/strong> personally created 14 million jobs<\/a> or that the sound from windmills causes cancer<\/a>, the man clearly has some kind of physical ailment that prevents him from telling the truth. And some of his buddies might suffer from the same condition!<\/p>\n On Thursday, a Georgia judge released an excerpt<\/a> of a report created by a special grand jury tasked with investigating efforts by Trump and his allies to overturn the 2020 election in the state. While the group\u2019s specific recommendations for who should be charged were not revealed, the report contained two big takeaways: One, that despite the ex-president\u2019s claims, there absolutely was not \u201cwidespread fraud\u201d in Georgia\u2019s 2020 presidential election, and two, that one or more people appear to have lied to the jury, which is, yes, a crime.<\/p>\n \u201cA majority of the Grand Jury believes that perjury may have been committed by one or more witnesses testifying before it,\u201d the group wrote. \u201cThe Grand Jury recommends that the District Attorney seek appropriate indictments for such crimes where the evidence is compelling.\u201d According to The<\/em> Washington Post,<\/em> the grand jury spoke<\/a> to 75 witnesses, including Lindsey Graham, Rudy Giuliani,<\/strong> and Georgia governor Brian Kemp.<\/strong> Obviously, it\u2019s possible that the people the jury believes committed perjury are not pals of Trump, though some of those allies are the ones that, like Trump, have a documented history of making false claims<\/a> or being totally fine with high-ranking individuals telling them<\/a>. The Post<\/em> notes that Giuliani is one of at least 18 people who have been notified they are targets of the criminal probe being conducted by the Fulton County district attorney\u2019s office\u2014which had made the request to impanel the special grand jury. The outlet says that last month, Trump\u2019s attorneys \u201cimplied in a statement that there had been no formal contact between the former president and his legal team and Fulton County prosecutors,\u201d but did not respond when asked if the ex-president had \u201cbeen given notice that he is a target of the investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n Speaking of which, Fulton County district attorney Fani Willis<\/strong>\u2014who launched her investigation shortly after Trump\u2019s infamous call with Georgia secretary of state Brad Raffensperger,<\/strong> in which Trump demanded Raffensperger \u201cfind\u201d the exact number of votes he need to beat Joe Biden<\/strong> in the state\u2014has said<\/a> that charging decisions in the case are \u201cimminent.\u201d Last fall, she told the Post<\/em> that \u201cIf indicted and convicted, people are facing prison sentences.\u201d Possibly not just for trying to overturn the election, but for lying about it too!<\/p>\n
