She speculated that this was \u201cbecause then you have a platform and a reputation at stake.\u201d In other words, the presence of the camera always changes what you see.<\/p>\n
Jill said that she and her siblings had to focus upon \u201cprotecting\u201d the show as a platform for their ministry. That\u2019s how Jim Bob presented it. She then pointed out: \u201cBut you add a TV show to that and it definitely makes that more intense.\u201d<\/p>\n

Their abusive cult teaches that men and women are inherently unequal. The lack of sex education or even the concept of mutual consent made the environment the ideal stalking ground for sexual predators.<\/p>\n
But much of the show\u2019s focus was on more innocuous, sanitized aspects of this sinister community. Such as the strict rules for how women dress, Michelle\u2019s hideous hairstyle, and their lack of a TV.<\/p>\nMichelle and Jim Bob Duggar don\u2019t seem like good people, in our opinion. Simply put, the camera locks things into place. So, if one of the Duggar daughters had worn jeans for a trip into town on the show, they\u2019d have needed to explain it to the audience.<\/p>\n
He was clearly talking about, more than anything else, the strict dress code. \u201cIf one of the main themes is like, we all wear this type of clothing,\u201d he described. \u201cAnd then someone pops up not wearing that type of clothing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Derick continued, explaining: \u201cThat would put the pressure on her dad because you\u2019re maintaining that theme of this is how we act and we don\u2019t wanna be asked to address it.\u201d<\/p>\nJill Duggar spoke with fans on YouTube in September of 2023. \u201cI think that even if you remove the person in leadership,\u201d Jill suggested, \u201ca lot of those same values and principles are still being taught, so it doesn\u2019t fix the problem.\u201d <\/p>\n

It makes everything better,’\u201d Jill pointed out.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo, it changes and maybe adds a nice storefront to the picture,\u201d she illustrated.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut,\u201d Jill correctly emphasized, \u201cit doesn\u2019t change the overall principles that are still being taught and held to.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
