Kenny Chesney<\/strong> and Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s friendship is a hidden gem amongst country fans and Swifties. The musicians have loved singing each other\u2019s praises over the years and the \u201cThere Goes My Life\u201d \u200bsinger made sure to give Taylor her flowers \u200bafter becoming TIME<\/em>\u2019s 2023 Person of the Year.<\/p>\n

\u201cTaylor, I knew looking in your eyes that first time on stage with us, you had \u2018it.\u2019 The hunger, that something special\u2026 A gift not everyone has to connect. It\u2019s been awesome watching you shine! Congratulations on being @TIME\u2019s Person of the Year,\u201d Kenny, 55, wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, December 6, alongside old photos of the pair. \u201cI\u2019m glad TIME<\/em> sees what I\u2019ve always loved about your music, your art and you as a human being. I\u2019m so proud of you and I love you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans echoed the country legend\u2019s sweet message to Taylor, 33, in the comment section, while others applauded him for supporting his fellow artists in a cutthroat industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s things like this, that have always made at Kenny Chesney so special. In a world where everyone is tearing others apart, he never misses an opportunity to lift up another artist or showcase someone else\u2019s greatness,\u201d a fan wrote, adding, \u201cOne of the many reasons I have been a loyal fan for 20+years.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIn a world of Kanyes and Scooters be a Kenny Chesney,\u201d a second person commented in reference to Taylor\u2019s infamous past feuds with Kanye West<\/strong> and former manager Scooter Braun<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Coincidentally enough, the \u201cLover\u201d singer mentioned her past feud<\/a> with Kanye, 46, and Kim Kardashian<\/strong> in her TIME<\/em> interview that was published earlier that day.<\/p>\n

\u201cMake no mistake \u2014 my career was taken away from me. You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar,\u201d she told the outlet.<\/p>\n

Taylor\u2019s friendship with Kenny, however, has been drama free. The pair first met in an airport before the \u201cBack to December\u201d artist signed her first record deal. Two years later, the \u201cCome Over\u201d musician asked Taylor to be his opening act for either his 2007 or 2008 tour. However, Kenny had to revoke the invitation after Taylor said yes because he had a pre-existing tour sponsorship with Corona and she was only 17 years old.<\/p>\n

The entertainers have since collaborated together and even made guest appearances at each other\u2019s concerts. In 2011, Taylor shared her deepest appreciation for Kenny taking her under his wing since her first days of stardom.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is one of the coolest, most affectionate, gracious people that I\u2019ve met in the music industry, and he\u2019s always reaching out to me to say \u2018hey\u2019 and check up on me and see how I\u2019m doing,\u201d the \u201cBlank Space\u201d singer told Taste of Country<\/em> at the time. \u201cIt seems like he has this weird intuition to know when I need someone to stop in and say, \u2018How are you.’\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
