Proton Drive, the end-to-end encrypted cloud storage app, is getting more like Google Drive. The Android version of the app now lets you automatically back up<\/a> and manage the photos on your phone. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n With the addition of a photo syncing and management feature, it\u2019s becoming more viable as an alternative to mainstream cloud storage options like Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive. Unlike both of these services, files stored within Proton Drive are end-to-end encrypted, which means third parties, including Proton itself, can\u2019t view your uploaded content.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n While Proton Drive currently lets you store photos and other files from your phone, it doesn\u2019t automatically sync new photos. The update will make it more convenient to back up your photos to the service, as you\u2019ll no longer have to upload all your recent pictures manually. Additionally, Proton Drive is getting a new \u201cPhotos\u201d tab that lets you scroll through all your pictures organized by the month they were taken.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Photo backup will be available on Proton Drive\u2019s Android app starting today, with availability on iOS to come \u201cat a later date.\u201d Proton Drive is free<\/a> to use for up to 1GB, with a 200GB plan priced at $4.99 per month and a 500GB plan for $12.99 per month. Proton Drive launched on Windows last year<\/a> and has gradually added support for macOS<\/a>, Android, and iOS<\/a>, allowing you to access your files across all your devices. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
