The former \u2018Beverly Hills, 90210\u2019 actress, 52, who is battling stage 4 breast cancer, told of the toughest times she had endured throughout the illness on her new podcast \u2018Let\u2019s Be Clear\u2019. <\/p>\n
She said: \u201cWhen I dropped down to 92lbs from chemo and was incredibly dehydrated, I had to still get out of bed. <\/p>\n
\u201cMy husband at the time (Kurt Iswarienko) was sort of begging me to keep going, and my mum (was) literally trying to pick me up out of bed and get me to the doctor\u2026 at that point in time, I thought that I wouldn\u2019t survive it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Shannen added the \u201ckindness\u201d extended to her from family, friends and strangers who \u201cconnected\u201d with her and shared their own stories about cancer treatments ultimately kept her going. <\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cTo have that connection\u2026 it sort of wrapped me into this cocoon of safety, as cheesy as that may sound, as sappy as that may sound. It really did,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt made me feel less ostracised from the world and like I was a part of something, which then started my feeling of deep, deep responsibility to share my story.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nDespite her cancer fight, Shannen is going \u201cfull steam ahead\u201d with her career. <\/p>\n
\nShe is said to have a \u201cplethora of gigs on the horizon\u201d, according to TMZ, despite her condition continuing to worsen. <\/p>\n
\nA representative for the star also told Page Six: \u201cShe is full steam ahead and she is (doing) great.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nThe outlet added Shannen is keeping busy by attending several events, such as the recent \u201990s Con alongside her \u201890210\u2019 castmates in Tampa, Florida, in September. <\/p>\n
\nShe also reportedly has a string of talk show appearances booked to promote her new iHeartRadio podcast \u2018Let\u2019s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty\u2019 ahead of its debut this month, with appearances set to include \u2018Live With Kelly and Mark\u2019 as well as \u2018GMA\u2019. <\/p>\n
\nIn June the actress told her fans on Instagram her cancer had spread to her brain after a CT scan showed she had brain metastases, a condition that occurs when cancer cells spread from their original site to the brain. <\/p>\n
\nShannen was diagnosed with breast cancer for the first time in March 2015, then announced in 2020 that she was battling stage 4 breast cancer, and said a year later she was \u201cfighting to stay alive\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
