Margot Robbie<\/strong><\/a> refused to move Barbie<\/em>\u2018s release date for Oppenheimer<\/em>, thus ensuring that fans could enjoy the full Barbenheimer<\/a> experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of your producers, Chuck Roven<\/strong>, called me, because we worked together on some other projects,\u201d Robbie, 33, told Cillian Murphy<\/strong> <\/a>in the Tuesday, December 5, episode of Variety<\/em>\u2018s \u201cActors on Actors\u201d<\/a> series. \u201cHe was like, \u2018I think you guys should move your date.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Robbie not only starred in Barbie<\/em> but produced the film through her company, Lucky Chap Productions, which brought director\/cowriter Greta Gerwig<\/strong> to the film. However, the Australia native didn\u2019t want to use her power as an executive producer to appease Roven, who was a producer on her Suicide Squad<\/em> films.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was like, \u2018We\u2019re not moving our date. If you\u2019re scared to be up against us, then you move your date,\u2019\u201d she recalled. \u201cAnd he\u2019s like, \u2018We\u2019re not moving our date. I just think it\u2019d be better for you to move.\u2019 And I was like, \u2018We\u2019re not moving!’\u201d<\/p>\n

Robbie, who played the iconic doll in the movie, believes the films complemented each other, saying, \u201cI think this is a really great pairing, actually. It\u2019s a perfect double billing, Oppenheimer<\/em><\/a> and Barbie<\/em><\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Murphy, 47, said, \u201cThat was a good instinct.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cClearly the world agreed,\u201d Robbie continued. \u201cThank God. The fact that people were going and being like, \u2018Oh, watch Oppenheimer<\/em> first, then Barbie<\/em>.\u2019 I was like, \u2018See? People like everything.\u2019 People are weird.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Oppenheimer<\/em> star added, \u201cAnd they don\u2019t like being told what to do. They will decide, and they will generate the interest themselves.\u201d Murphy also noted that director Christopher Nolan<\/strong> has a superstition about always releasing movies on or near July 21.<\/p>\n
