Jamie Foxx<\/a> is getting candid and emotional about coming back from a <\/span>frightening medical emergency earlier this year.<\/a><\/p>\n Foxx, 55, made an appearance on Monday at the Critics Choice Association’s Celebration of Cinema & Television Honoring Black, Latino & AAPI Achievements, where he was honored with the\u00a0Vanguard Award for <\/span>his performance in The Burial<\/em>.<\/a><\/p>\n The actor walked across the stage to accept the award from his co-star,\u00a0<\/span>Jurnee Smollett<\/a>, and remarked to the audience at the\u00a0Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, “You know, it\u2019s crazy, I couldn\u2019t do that six months ago — I couldn\u2019t actually walk,” per <\/span>Variety.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n Foxx also jokingly called out the slew of conspiracy theories that popped up in the wake of his sudden and shocking hospitalization back in April, stating, “I’m not a clone, I\u2019m not a clone. I know a lot of people who was saying I was cloned out there.”<\/span><\/p>\n Getting serious about his experience, Foxx said, “I wouldn\u2019t wish what I went through on my worst enemy, because it\u2019s tough when it’s almost over \u2026 when you see the tunnel.”<\/span><\/p>\n “I saw the tunnel — I didn\u2019t see the light,” Foxx said.<\/span><\/p>\n The actor explained, “I have a new respect for life. I have a new respect for my art.”<\/span><\/p>\n Foxx also thanked his family — <\/span>particularly his sister<\/a> and <\/span>his daughter<\/a> — for helping him in his time of need, and for keeping his health battle private to the best of their ability during his initial hospitalization and recovery.<\/span><\/p>\n News of Foxx’s hospitalization\u00a0first surfaced on April 12, and the nature of his medical emergency has not yet been disclosed.<\/span><\/p>\n
