Kelsea Ballerini<\/strong><\/a> slipped into her best little black dress as she prepared for her first date in her official \u201cHow Do I Do This (The Final Chapter)\u201d music video.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey say to get out with the old, you get in with the new \/ And I haven\u2019t been on a date since I was 22,\u201d Ballerini, 30, starts off singing in the Friday, December 1, video<\/a>, while wearing sweatpants following her divorce from Morgan Evans<\/strong>. \u201cMy friend has a friend and they say they\u2019re my type \/ And then they texted me once \/ And then they texted me twice \/ Saying, \u2018Are you free Saturday? I know a spot\u2019 \/ So, I typed out a couple million ways to respond \/ But I landed with \u2018Yes\u2019 \/ S\u2014t, so where the hell is my dress?\u201d<\/p>\n

After nervously texting her future date \u2014 which she\u2019s previously hinted was now-boyfriend, Chase Stokes<\/strong> \u2014 Ballerini gets dolled up in a Cinderella blue dress while dreaming about the possible new romance. She continues to primp and sing to herself in the mirror before chopping off her long locks as part of her new phase post-divorce.<\/p>\n

In the video, the country singer rocks multiple fairy tale gowns in her room before settling on a sexy LBD and sipping wine in the bathroom. When the doorbell rings and Ballerini smirks in her mirror and then pauses before walking to meet her new man.<\/p>\n

Ballerini released the song \u201cHow Do I Do This (The Final Chapter)\u201d in August as part of her Rolling Up the Welcome Mat (For Good)<\/em><\/a> EP.<\/p>\n

The initial album came out in February and documented Ballerini\u2019s divorce from Evans, 38, which was finalized in November 2022. The twosome were married for nearly five years before their split.<\/p>\n

While many of the tracks on the record recalled the hard times Ballerini had to overcome after heartbreak<\/a>, \u201cHow Do I Do This,\u201d is a song about her moving on with boyfriend Stokes, 31, and the nerves she felt before going out on that first date.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s about the nerves of going into a very unknown world,\u201d Ballerini exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> in August of the song. \u201cAnd, to me, I felt like since I hadn\u2019t really gotten to share my story in my perspective on what had happened in my life yet, that needed to come second. That is part two.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Grammy nominee explained: \u201cI felt like I really wanted to talk about, you know, the breakup, and let that kind of live in one piece. And then if I ever decided to do what we\u2019re doing now \u2014 Rolling Up the Welcome Mat (For Good)<\/em> \u2014 then that would be kind of the extension of the story. And especially now, I\u2019ve been in a new relationship for a while now, and people have seen that. So I feel like it\u2019s a really appropriate time to catch everyone up and to be able to move the narrative from the past to the present.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ballerini touches on the butterflies she felt stepping into her post-divorce dating era in the track, singing, \u201cLike, is it wrong to take a shot? \/ I\u2019m freaking out like \u2018Oh, my God\u2019 \/ \u2018Cause now it\u2019s 7:00 on the dot.\u201d She also name-drops Kelly Clarkson<\/strong> in one verse, revealing she called Clarkson, 41, \u201cfor a talk\u201d before the big night.<\/p>\n
