In 2014, Meghan Markle<\/strong> started a blog called The Tig, where she posted regularly about lifestyle topics and current events. Though she shut down the website in April 2017<\/a>, six months after her relationship went public, the posts were preserved on the Internet Archive\u2019s Wayback Machine and occasionally tidbits will recirculate. On Wednesday, the Daily Mail<\/em><\/a> brought back a 2014 entry she published referencing Prince William<\/strong>\u2019s 2011 wedding to Kate Middleton,<\/strong> citing it as evidence that Meghan couldn\u2019t have been telling the truth when she said she didn\u2019t know much about the royals before she met Prince Harry.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the introduction to a blog entry<\/a> where she interviewed Princess Alia Al Senussi,<\/strong> a descendent of Libyan royalty who works in the art world, Meghan mentioned that as a child she loved tough princesses like She-Ra from the \u201980s cartoon, She-Ra: Princess of Power.<\/em> She also mentioned that the idea of a \u201cprincess\u201d still exerts power on adults too. \u201cGrown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy,\u201d she wrote. \u201cJust look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate.\u201d<\/p>\n

You might think that calling her future sister-in-law \u201cPrincess Kate\u201d might be a sign that Meghan didn\u2019t actually know too much about royal forms of address. (Until Queen Elizabeth II\u2019s passing, her proper title was either Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, or Princess William of Wales.) But to the Mail,<\/em> this \u201csuggests that she not only knew exactly who the royals were\u2014but that she\u2019d also formed several very strong opinions about the Monarchy and its many traditions, years before she met her future husband.\u201d<\/p>\n
