The late singer – who died in January aged 54 due to complications from weight loss surgery – struggled with attention, something her daughter Riley Keough finds “crazy” because her mother was born into the spotlight as the only child of Elvis Presley<\/a> and his then-wife Priscilla.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the SiriusXM show ‘Inside Graceland’, host Joel Weinshanker – who is the managing partner and majority owner of Elvis Presley<\/a> Enterprises – said: “You have a grandmother who loves to be the master of ceremonies, she loves to be in the limelight, she loves to be very welcoming and you had a mother who was exactly the opposite.”<\/p>\n

Riley replied: “I think, you know, everybody’s different. [My mother] wasn’t somebody who liked attention. She didn’t like being in the public eye — which is a crazy situation that she was born into for somebody who doesn’t like attention.<\/p>\n

“But she loved coming to Graceland, she loved the fans, and she loved being with the original generation of Elvis fans.<\/p>\n

\n“And my grandmother, obviously, for so many years, she dedicated her whole life to Elvis’ legacy.”<\/p>\n

\nThe ‘Daisy Jones and the Six’ actress – who inherited Elvis’ Graceland estate following her mother’s death – admitted she is currently unsure of her own position in comparison to Priscilla and Lisa Marie.<\/p>\n

\nShe laughed: “I don’t really know where I exist on that spectrum. I love being involved, because it’s my family and I care about them, and we’ll see how that works out in the future.”<\/p>\n

\nBut Riley did get involved with the NBC holiday special ‘Christmas at Graceland’ – which featured performances from the likes of Alanis Morissette, John Legend, Lana Del Rey, Post Malone and Kacey Musgraves – and had a great time.<\/p>\n

\nShe said: “But this has been a nice experience.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
