The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City<\/em> star Heather Gay<\/strong><\/a> is the latest Bravo star to admit she\u2019s tried Ozempic<\/a> \u2014 but it hasn\u2019t quite been the wonder drug she expected.<\/p>\n

\u201c[I\u2019m] on the Ozempic train,\u201d Gay, 49, told People<\/em><\/a> on Wednesday, November 29. \u201cI\u2019ve been on it for a long time, but hadn\u2019t really seen much results. And I haven\u2019t had massive results, but enough for people to notice, which is great.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gay went on to say that she feels like some people have been changing their behavior since she began her weight loss journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou lose five pounds, people are nicer to you,\u201d she said, adding that it\u2019s a \u201cdiscouraging\u201d thought. \u201cIt\u2019s just the way the world works and that makes me sad for women. But happy that I\u2019m down five.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star sparked speculation about using the drug after she debuted her slimmed-down figure in January 2023 via a bikini selfie. Ozempic is the brand name for a semaglutide drug developed to treat type 2 diabetes. The injectable medication \u2014 and similar drugs including Wegovy and Mounjaro \u2014 have become popular for weight loss, as they work to increase a patient\u2019s feeling of fullness.<\/p>\n

Gay is the latest Housewife \u2014 and one of many celebrities \u2014 who\u2019s spoken out about taking Ozempic. In June, The Real Housewives of Orange County<\/em> star Emily Simpson<\/strong> attributed her recent weight loss after starting Ozempic<\/a> in December 2022.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was great for my diet. It really just kickstarted me into eating better and eating healthier \u2019cause it makes you feel like crap \u2019cause nothing tastes good,\u201d Simpson, 47, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> in July, adding that she was no longer taking the medication. \u201cI cut out a lot of things and I go to the gym seven days a week and work out. I work out like I\u2019m training for a fitness competition.\u201d<\/p>\n

Simpson clarified that Ozempic wasn\u2019t the only thing that helped her slim down, adding that she doesn\u2019t appreciate critics who think she didn\u2019t also make changes to her diet and exercise routines.<\/p>\n
