The Golden Bachelor<\/span><\/i><\/a> star <\/span>Gerry Turner<\/b><\/a> is happily engaged to Theresa Nist<\/b><\/a> after finding love on the reality show. If that wasn\u2019t happy news enough, the two are tying the knot on January 4, 2024, in a live event!<\/p>\n Gerry, 72, got down on one knee to ask Theresa, 60, for her hand in marriage during the Thursday, November 30, finale. The engagement came after a brutal episode, where fans watched Gerry and Leslie Fhima<\/b><\/a> conclude their relationship in a heartbreaking exit.<\/p>\n While the retired restauranteur is now happily engaged, he previously admitted that ultimately choosing who to give his final rose to wasn\u2019t an easy decision. During the November 16 episode<\/span><\/a>, he took both Leslie <\/span>and Theresa<\/span>\u00a0to the fantasy suites. After having an amazing night with both women, Gerry said that the positive experiences made his final decision even more difficult.<\/p>\n \u201cRight now, I\u2019m dying inside. I\u2019m in love with both of them, and in each case I\u2019ve told them, \u2018I love you,\u2019\u201d Gerry stated. \u201cWith each of them I can see a life together. Life with Leslie would be a very exciting life. She\u2019s adventurous. She looks out for me and I look out for her. But Theresa and I have this bond. We know what the other person is feeling. We know what they\u2019ve been through.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite having strong feelings for both Leslie, 64, and Theresa, Gerry concluded the penultimate episode by stating he knew who he would propose to. However, he acknowledged that the woman he didn\u2019t choose would be \u201churt\u201d at the end of the process<\/a>.<\/p>\n Prior to the season 1 finale, host Jesse Palmer<\/strong> told Entertainment Tonight<\/span><\/i><\/a> that Gerry\u2019s<\/span> final goodbye to the runner-up was the \u201cmost heartbreaking\u201d<\/span><\/a> and \u201cmost difficult\u201d for him from the entire season.<\/p>\n While Jesse, 45, noted that the episode was \u201cheart-wrenching\u201d for Gerry to film, he promised viewers that the leading man ends the season on a positive note.<\/p>\n \u201cGerry showed up wanting to find someone he could spend his golden years with and I think he found that,\u201d Jesse shared. \u201cI\u2019m really excited for us to make that announcement, see the happy couple. It will be an emotional rollercoaster, there is no doubt.\u201d<\/p>\n Even before Gerry narrowed down the contestants to the final two, the TV personality admitted he had strong feelings for several of the women <\/span><\/a>vying for his heart. Gerry initially believed he wouldn\u2019t develop feelings for more than one person, though said he was wrong while speaking to <\/span>Us Weekly<\/span><\/i><\/a> in September.<\/p>\n \u201cI thought, \u2018No, that\u2019s absolutely not possible. That\u2019s silly.\u2019 How wrong I was,\u201d the father of two said at the time. \u201cBecause through the course of the journey, I really felt strong feelings for several of the women.\u201d<\/p>\n However, the Indiana native assured viewers that he wasn\u2019t fully \u201cin love\u201d with most of the women. \u201cIn retrospect, I realized that in that particular moment, whenever it was \u2014 the setting was such that, \u2018Yeah, it was easy to look at someone and tell \u2019em that you loved \u2019em,\u201d the reality star continued. \u201cBut once you get through it all and you look back, then you realize that there is just really one person that really meets the standard in all situations that you want it to be.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
