Gymnast<\/a>\u00a0Nastia Liukin<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0won everyone\u2019s hearts when she was crowned the All-Around champion at the 2008 Beijing Olympics<\/a> alongside bestie and fellow athlete\u00a0Shawn Johnson<\/strong><\/a>. While Nastia is usually busy, she still makes time to hit the beach wearing her sexiest bikinis<\/a> and swimsuits<\/a>!<\/p>\n

\u201cJungle Nastia has entered the group chat,\u201d she captioned an Instagram<\/a> carousel post in April 2022. The first slide featured a shot of her posing in a multi-colored, floral two-piece ensemble and sunglasses.<\/p>\n

In another post, the blonde beauty shared a snap of her posing in a light purple bikini, sunglasses and a classy sun hat.<\/p>\n

\u201cGoing to Costa Rica (!!!) next week,\u201d she wrote via Instagram<\/a> that month. \u201cTell us all the things to do, see, hotels, etc. etc. Thank youuuu [sic].\u201d<\/p>\n

While she doesn\u2019t hesitate to flaunt her swimwear every now and then, Nastia has opened up about struggling with body image. In a January 2018 interview with StyleCaster<\/a>, the gold medalist revealed the criticism she faced following the 2008 Olympics.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople remembered me as this petite blond gymnast in a leotard, and then I go through the normal body changes and people are like, \u2018Oh my God. You\u2019re so fat,\u2019\u201d she explained. \u201cIt\u2019s like, \u2018Actually, I\u2019m not fat.\u2019 Yes. I gained some weight. But my body is going through this change. Everyone goes through that. I guess not everyone goes through it in the public eye.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nastia then labeled this difficult phase in her life as an \u201cidentity crisis.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t know who I was,\u201d she added. \u201cI didn\u2019t know what to wear. Nothing fit me. I tried to wear really baggy clothes to hide that. I lost all my self-confidence. I didn\u2019t want to go anywhere. I didn\u2019t want to go to events or to dinner or do anything because I was so insecure with myself and my body because of what other people were saying.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, the world champion later realized she \u201cneeded to take time for [her] body to go through that.\u201d So, she reached a point of self-acceptance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was working out all the time, but nothing was happening, and at a certain point, it\u2019s OK,\u201d Nastia noted. \u201cMore recently, I\u2019ve realized that if I want dessert, if I want a cookie, I\u2019m going to have it and not deprive myself because I don\u2019t want my jeans to be too tight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, Nastia still found herself being criticized for looking too skinny.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo matter what, you\u2019re still being body-shamed,\u201d she added. \u201cOn my Instagram yesterday, someone was like, \u2018Jeez. When are you going to start eating again?\u2019 It\u2019s like, \u2018Trust me. I eat just fine.\u2019 I am healthy \u2026 No matter what, you\u2019re never going to be what people want.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the negative comments she\u2019s received, the balance beam queen embraces her natural beauty and enjoys absorbing the sunshine whenever she can.<\/p>\n
