In fact, in promoting the book, she\u2019s shared more shocking anecdotes about her difficult upbringing and her strained relationship with her parents.<\/p>\n
Most recently, Jill appeared on Dr. Julie Hanks\u2019 podcast, where she discussed, among other things, her decision not to follow in her mother\u2019s footsteps by birthing a small army.<\/p>\nJill Duggar is telling her story like never before. \u201cTo then having the shift of being like, do I trust in God with the number of children that I\u2019m supposed to have, could also mean trusting Him if he doesn\u2019t give us 20 kids,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n
\u201cAm I being punished for my lack of desire of having 20 kids? All those mind games that you play,\u201d Jill\u2019s husband, Derick Dillard, chimed in.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnother toxic aspect of this culture. There\u2019s also a sense of hierarchy that you\u2019re less than if you have less kids,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\nOn the \u201cShiny Happy People\u201d documentary, Jill Duggar tried to convey the complex emotions that she still feels towards her horrible parents. Jill claimed that her folks were \u201chalf-joking\u201d with that remark, but there\u2019s no doubt that remark caught some of her sibling\u2019s attention.<\/p>\n
From there, Jill recalled the moment when she first told her father about her struggles with fertility.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was frustrating to me in that moment. This idea still that he was a gatekeeper for our information,\u201d Derick remarked.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe don\u2019t know that yet. Let\u2019s be careful what we say to other people,\u201d Jim Bob allegedly said in response to his daughter\u2019s news.<\/p>\n

Needless so say, Jill and Derick didn\u2019t share that view.<\/p>\n
These days, Jill is not on speaking terms with her parents, and she seems pessimistic about the possibility that she\u2019ll ever see eye-to-eye with them.<\/p>\n
We\u2019re sure the separation is painful at times, but it\u2019s clearly for the best.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
