Bachelorette<\/em><\/a> alum Nayte Olukoya<\/strong><\/a> slammed his ex-fianc\u00e9e, Michelle Young<\/strong><\/a>, calling her claim that she donated the $200,000 gifted<\/a> to the exes for a downpayment on a house \u201cgarbage.\u201d<\/p>\n While appearing on the November 25 episode of the \u201cBachelor Rush Hour with Dave Neal\u201d podcast, Nayte, 29, countered Michelle\u2019s admission that she gave the money \u2013 given to them by ABC \u2013 away, shedding more light on the agreement they signed with the network.<\/p>\n \u201cWe did not get any of that money,\u201d Nayte claimed, admitting he \u201cknew\u201d their relationship \u201cwasn\u2019t going to last.\u201d \u201cYou can\u2019t be upset about money that\u2019s never touched your pocket. The money never touched our pockets.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI always thought that was hilarious,\u201d Nayte further said of his ex\u2019s donation claims. \u201cWe signed a contract of how that money gets sent out. There was only way we can get the money, if we put a down payment no ifs, ands or buts. If you break up or if you don\u2019t use the money within the first year, neither one of us gets that money.\u201d<\/p>\n The former Bachelor Nation couple \u2013 who got engaged at the end of season 18 \u2013 announced in separate statement<\/a>s that they were ending their relationship in June 2022, a process that Nayte felt was a \u201cheadache.\u201d However, both admitted that the split was too heavy to process.<\/p>\n One month after their breakup, Michelle, 30 addressed their $200,000 gift given to her and Nayte during the season 18 finale, explaining, \u201cThat was money that was gifted to both of us.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cFor me personally, I haven\u2019t officially decided, but I kind of have started putting some different things in place to give back, to build an organization or just promote the change that I\u2019ve been talking about. I think that would be something that I\u2019d feel really good about,\u201d she said during a July 2022 interview on \u201cThe Ben and Ashley I. Almost Famous Podcast.\u201d \u201cI\u2019ve been crying on the phone with one of the producers and like, \u2018Can I give this money? Like, can I create this to give the money to somebody else?\u2019 she explained. \u201cIt\u2019s something that I feel good about. I know that\u2019s been the million-dollar question \u2014 no pun intended. But, yeah, it\u2019s been a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n Three months later, Nayte revealed that he broke up with Michelle over the phone during a September 2022 appearance on \u201cThe Viall Files\u201d podcast. \u201cOur relationship was tough,\u201d he explained to host Nick Viall<\/strong>, not addressing the money at the time. \u201cThere was lots of ups and downs, lots of arguments, lots of fights and just not really clicking, not really seeing eye-to-eye.\u201d<\/p>\n In December 2022, Michelle exclusively told Life & Style<\/em> that she was \u201chealed\u201d from her split<\/a> with Nayte. \u201cI really did the work early on, and it\u2019s a lot when so much is going on outside of you,\u201d she explained. \u201cYou have to heal otherwise, you are going to constantly \u2014 like, your emotions depend on what is happening.\u201d<\/p>\n Michelle has since moved on and went Instagram official with boyfriend<\/a> Jack Leius<\/strong> in October 2023.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
