The most soulful night of the year has arrived! The\u00a0<\/span>2023 BET Soul Train Awards<\/a>\u00a0aired on Sunday night, and this year’s\u00a0ceremony was a reimagined event that gave stars and audiences an intimate and unforgettable Hollywood party, celebrating the best in soul music and the iconic legacy brand.<\/span><\/p>\n Hosted by Emmy Award-winning actress, musical artist, producer, and entrepreneur\u00a0<\/span>Keke Palmer<\/a>, the award show included a\u00a0remarkable lineup of performances from the biggest stars in Black culture and entertainment. BJ The Chicago Kid, Dant\u00e9 Bowe, Fridayy, Muni Long and Coco Jones — with special guest SWV — took the stage for performances throughout the night, and remained true to the annual extravaganza’s commitment to highlighting the impact of\u00a0<\/span>Soul Train<\/span><\/em>\u00a0on music and dance from the 1970s to the present day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Sunday’s show featured\u00a0<\/span>Usher<\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>SZA<\/a>\u00a0and Summer Walker leading the pack of nominees with nine nods apiece, marking a historic three-way tie.\u00a0<\/span>21 Savage<\/a>\u00a0trailed\u00a0close behind with\u00a0eight nominations, followed by\u00a0<\/span>Coco Jones<\/a>\u00a0and Victoria\u00a0Mon\u00e9t with six nominations each, and Burna Boy,\u00a0<\/span>Chris Brown<\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Janelle\u00a0Mon\u00e1e<\/a>\u00a0and October London, with four.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n SZA came out on top, taking home four big wins, including Best R&B\/Soul Female Artist, Album of the Year and Song of the Year.
