Dame Helen Mirren says life is too ‘interesting’ to worry about lines and wrinkles<\/p>\n
The 78-year-old actress has never wanted to \u201cfight\u201d against the ageing process because she\u2019d rather lead a long and full life and enjoy each day as it comes. <\/p>\n
She told Britain\u2019s HELLO! magazine: \u201cI say celebrate it, don\u2019t fight it. <\/p>\n
\u201cYou die young or you get old and I don\u2019t want to die young. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m too interested in life. It\u2019s wonderful, so celebrate that and enjoy it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe \u2018Red\u2019 actress insisted she has no desire to turn back time and she\u2019s always happy to celebrate the age she is. <\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cI\u2019ve always said I\u2019m not growing old, I\u2019m growing up. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI feel the age I am in the fullest possible sense, with all the curiosity, knowledge and fear I have about life. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI love being the age I am. Why would I want to be someone else? I don\u2019t. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cActor John Gilbert said, \u2018It\u2019s all in the spine\u2019 and it\u2019s very true. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI want you to do something right now, sit up and the energy immediately changes. It\u2019s amazing. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cThat feeling of, \u2018This is my space, I\u2019m taking it and filling it up\u2019 makes an enormous difference. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo as you travel through life, keep taking your space and don\u2019t let anyone else take it. There\u2019s no one else in the world like you.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nAnd Helen appreciates the \u201cwonderful advantages\u201d that come with growing older. <\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cWe absolutely need to change the language around ageing. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cPart of life is getting older, so the vocabulary is incredibly important. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cWithout a doubt, as you get older, your confidence grows. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cOne of the elements of getting older that makes you happy is you let go of those terrible, ridiculous insecurities you have when you\u2019re young. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cMy mum always said to me, \u2018Darling, never worry about getting older. When you\u2019re 20, the thought of being 40 is terrifying but when you get to 40, you won\u2019t want to be 20 again because you\u2019ve gained more wonderful advantages.\u2019 \u201c<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
