Loni Anderson<\/strong> became a household name after starring as Jennifer Marlowe in WKRP in Cincinnati<\/em> \u2014 and four decades later, she still can\u2019t help but praise the trailblazing character.<\/p>\n

In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly<\/em>, the actress, 78, opened up about the role that earned her three Golden Globe nominations and two Emmy Award nominations. \u201cShe was the smartest person in the room. She spoke seven languages and she took care of everybody like she was their mom,\u201d Anderson shares. \u201cAnd yet she was a bombshell, so it made her so interesting.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anderson believes Jennifer \u2014 the sitcom\u2019s receptionist who was revered for having both beauty and brains \u2014 helped inspire the next generations. \u201cYoung women, especially, identified with [the idea that] you can be hot and also be the smartest person in the room,\u201d she explains. \u201cIt was a wonderful thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anderson has an idea of where the character would be today. \u201cI do think that she\u2019s running the show somewhere,\u201d she tells Us<\/em>. \u201cShe is definitely a CEO, because she really ran the station.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Anderson, it was one project she couldn\u2019t turn down. \u201cWhen it was presented to me, [I said], \u2018First of all, I want to be with these ladies\u2019 and the script was so adorable \u2014 these five divas, what a great idea!\u201d she shares. \u201cI was on board immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n

Teaming up with the women was more play than work \u2014 \u201c[There were] some laughs in the makeup and hair department,\u201d she explains \u2014 and the group had a wonderful time going down memory lane.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were all talking about the old days. Linda explained to us how crazy it was in her life when the \u2018Who shot J.R.?\u2019 [phenomenon] happened,\u201d she recalls of the Dallas<\/em> star. \u201cWe learned backstage stuff that happened, because in that era, you had a secret and you had to carry it all the way through.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, the ladies also inquired about each other\u2019s beauty secrets: \u201cYou can\u2019t help but want to know [about] Donna \u2014 How do you stay looking like that? What is the deal? I know you have good genes, but wow, magic!\u201d<\/p>\n

Looking back on her career, Anderson knows what she hopes her legacy will be: \u201cI hope that I\u2019ll be remembered for changing the whole look of a young woman with a career.\u201d<\/p>\n
