When it came to halftime performances this Thanksgiving<\/a>, all must bow down to Dolly Parton<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Fresh off of releasing her star-studded Rockstar<\/em> album<\/a>, Parton, 77, performed at halftime during the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders game on Thursday, November 23. As expected, she crushed it while dressed up like a Cowboys cheerleader<\/a> (with her trademark rhinestones). Viewers raved over Parton\u2019s performance, many remarking that she is a \u201cnational treasure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sadly, the same could not be said for Jack Harlow<\/strong><\/a>. The 25-year-old rapper was tasked with entertaining those who tuned in to see the Green Bay Packers take on the Detroit Lions. Fans torched Harlow\u2019s performance and the lackluster igloo-themed set, saying <\/a>it was like \u201cthe live-action production of Club Penguin.\u201d<\/p>\n

At least viewers were able to see Harlow\u2019s performance. Steve Aoki<\/strong><\/a> got utterly rejected, like the potato salad-with-raisins<\/a> that someone thought would be a great addition to a Thanksgiving meal. As Aoki, 45, was set to play the halftime show for the Seattle Seahawks \/ San Francisco 49ers showdown, the broadcast cut to commercials, meaning that no one but those at Lumen Field got to see his antics.<\/p>\n

Parton continued to show why she\u2019s one of the most beloved performers with her halftime show. Turning AT&T Stadium into her stage, Parton \u2013 dressed in a sparkly version of a Cowboys cheerleader outfit \u2013 played a quick six-minute show where she kicked off with \u201cJolene,\u201d her 1973 hit. From there, she went into \u201c9 to 5,\u201d the workers\u2019 anthem and theme song to her 1980 comedy (that also starred Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin). Parton then finished her performance with an abridged version of Queen\u2019s \u201cWe Will Rock You\/We Are The Champions.\u201d<\/p>\n

The NFL posted the full performance on YouTube shortly afterward. \u201cDolly never ceases to amaze us,\u201d wrote one fan in the comments section. \u201cI mean, who doesn\u2019t love Dolly!?\u201d asked another. \u201cShe is an inspiration to all us old ladies and beyond! You go, girl!\u201d wrote a third fan, while one summed up what everyone was thinking: \u201cDolly Parton is a national treasure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Many viewers threw the penalty flag on Harlow\u2019s set. Harlow had the task of entertaining the crowd at Detroit\u2019s Ford Field, which would not be easy. It didn\u2019t help when Harlow came out of an igloo that one fan said looked <\/a>like it cost \u201c$49.99.\u201d Another fan posted on X<\/a> (formerly Twitter) that Harlow\u2019s set was a child\u2019s Frozen<\/em> playset. Others said Harlow\u2019s shabby appearance, glasses, and outfit made him look<\/a> like Ming Ming (Peter Billingsley<\/strong>) from Elf.<\/p>\n

\u201cJack Harlow really stole his church\u2019s VBS decorations for the Thanksgiving halftime show,\u201d joked <\/a>one fan. As for the performance, Harlow went through his songs \u201cTyler Herro,\u201d \u201cWHATS POPPIN,\u201d \u201cINDUSTRY BABY\u201d (the song he did with Lil Nas X), \u201cFirst Class\u201d and \u201cLovin On Me.\u201d It seemingly failed to win fans over.<\/p>\n

If NFL fans can\u2019t remember seeing Aoki play the halftime show during the Thanksgiving game between the 49ers and the Seahawks, that\u2019s because it didn\u2019t make it to air. As Aoki was about to play, NBC decided it was time to run some commercials, completely cutting Aoki\u2019s set from the broadcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cSteve Aoki\u2019s halftime show was like 30 seconds long,\u201d posted on fan on X, sharing the brief footage of Aoki hyping up the crowd before NBC decided to run some ads. What fans eventually missed was Aoki throwing a sheet cake into the face of Seattle\u2019s mascot, Blitz.<\/p>\n
