Paul Rudd<\/strong> <\/a>has plenty of fun playing Ant-Man, but he doesn\u2019t enjoy preparing to look like a Marvel superhero.<\/p>\n

The actor, 54, discussed his favorites foods and diet while on the Tuesday, November 21, episode of the \u201cOff Menu\u201d podcast<\/a> with hosts Ed Gamble<\/strong> and James Acaster<\/strong>. As Rudd was putting together his ideal menu, the hosts asked Ruddd what type of water he preferred.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was having to train for the Ant-Man<\/em> movie, and I was on a very restrictive diet, my reward was sparkling water,\u201d Rudd revealed with a laugh. \u201cThat\u2019s how horrible that diet was. I was like, \u2018Alright, I\u2019m gonna have some sparkling water now. I\u2019ve earned it!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

All sparkling water brands are not the same, he shared: \u201cPellegrino is great. I would choose that over a Perrier.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe actor that never ages. Paul Rudd has taken on a lot of titles over the course of his decades-long career, from rom-com heartthrob to superhero to one of Hollywood\u2019s funniest stars. Rudd was born in April 1969 in New Jersey to English parents Gloria Irene Granville and Michael Rudd \u2014 the latter of whom [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

When Gamble and Acaster questioned if the bubbly beverage was really a reward, Rudd confirmed that he wasn\u2019t joking. \u201cIt was great. It wasn\u2019t flavored, I wasn\u2019t gonna go crazy,\u201d he said. \u201cIt was a treat.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rudd started playing the superhero in 2015\u2019s Ant-Man<\/em>. He returned for Captain America: Civil War<\/em> (2016), Ant-Man and the Wasp<\/em> (2018), Avengers: Endgame<\/em> (2019) and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania<\/em> (2023). Rudd has gotten used to the restrictive diet over the years.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce you\u2019re in it, it\u2019s actually not too hard. \u2026 I\u2019m OK with having really boring food every time, over and over again because I would eat kind of very similar things,\u201d he said. \u201cYou get into it and get into the groove of it, [you start to] feel good. I like waking up with tons of energy. It was the strangest sensation. That was new for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rudd was asked if the stars were comparing diet and nutrition notes on the set of Avengers: Endgame<\/em>, and he couldn\u2019t help but notice he wasn\u2019t getting the same results as Chris Hemsworth<\/strong><\/a> for what appeared to be the same \u2014 if not more \u2014 effort.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, I think people kind of are [comparing notes],\u201d Rudd said. \u201cBut I also think I worked out harder than anyone, I would eat better than everyone \u2014 and I looked worse than all of them. I had to work out all the time, eat perfectly, just to look kind of bad. Not even like great.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cI remember on Endgame<\/em>, Chris Hemsworth would always have these Tupperware containers and he\u2019s eating this gruel of just a mash of stuff. He\u2019s working out, and then you stand next to a guy like that<\/a>, and I just think, \u2018Well, what\u2019s the point of any of this?\u2019 Why am I killing myself when that can exist? And then I look at myself and this exists. I can never achieve that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Only Murders in the Building<\/em> star noted that he was happy his character was never expected to look like Hemsworth\u2019s god of thunder. \u201cThat was the good thing that it was Ant-Man, it isn\u2019t Thor. But I tried to work out like Thor, and it didn\u2019t work,\u201d he quipped.<\/p>\n
