That\u2019s the day the polymath\u2019s concert documentary, Renaissance: A Film by Beyonc\u00e9,<\/em> is set to hit theaters<\/a>\u2014and the day when the concert film box office records set by Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour<\/em><\/a> might see their most significant challenger. And Beyonc\u00e9 seems to be gearing up for that competition, dropping one last trailer for the film amid an American Thanksgiving tradition.<\/p>\n The surprise went down during Thursday\u2019s NBC broadcast of the Macy\u2019s Thanksgiving Day Parade.<\/em> Introduced by Today<\/em> show anchor\/parade co-host Hoda Kotb<\/strong>, Beyonc\u00e9 popped onto screens in a pre-taped prologue (did you actually think she\u2019d bundle up and schlep to 6th Avenue to be there in person?), saying \u201cHey, it\u2019s Beyonc\u00e9, wishing you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving. I\u2019m so honored to share with you the first look at the new Renaissance film trailer.\u201d<\/p>\n What followed reflects what we\u2019ve heard about the film so far<\/a>\u2014that as opposed to a simple open-to-close concert film, it\u2019s a mix of performance footage, artsy \u201cvisual album\u201d segments, and a behind-the-scenes documentary look of the work that went into the 56-show Renaissance tour, which generated $579 million and is, thus far, \u201cthe highest-grossing tour by a female artist in history,\u201d Entertainment Weekly noted last month<\/a>.<\/p>\n
