\nThe \u2018Desperado\u2019 actor, 78, is said to be worth $16 million thanks to his appearances in at least 145 films, but is now said to be in the midst of re-organising his assets after he \u201cmistakenly claimed deductions for years\u201d.<\/p>\n

\nTMZ is reporting the star \u2013 whose best-known roles include parts in \u2018Machete\u2019, \u2018Spy Kids\u2019 and \u2018Breaking Bad\u2019 and who runs businesses such as Trejo Tacos and Trejo\u2019s Coffee and Donuts in Las Vegas \u2013 has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.<\/p>\n

\nIt is referred to as \u201creorganisation bankruptcy\u201d, which lets a company stay active while it restructure itself.<\/p>\n

\nThe publication added the decision had been taken to deal with a huge tax bill, which has been estimated at around $2 million.<\/p>\n

\nDanny is said to have told TMZ he had been \u201cmistakenly\u201d claiming deductions \u201cover the years\u201d that \u201ccaught up with him’.<\/p>\n

\nThe outlet added he joked he is now aware dog grooming is not a \u201clegit expense\u201d that can be written off in tax filings.<\/p>\n

\nHis enterprises are said to be owned by corporations he created to run them, and Danny is said to be hoping to be free of debt in 2024.<\/p>\n

\nThe four-times divorced dad-of-three recently had a wax figure of himself unveiled at Madame Tussauds, in November 2021, and said at the time: \u201cIt was so humbling, and I\u2019m usually pretty good at just winging a speech, but when I saw that I was just, like, tongue tied.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
