At 10AM ET Peloton kicked off its 10th annual \u201cTurkey Burn\u201d event, with the goal of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Cz_cVY4ARzA\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">breaking the Guiness World Record<\/a> for \u201clargest live cycling class.\u201d But the company struggled with the demand, and many users were unable to participate at all. \u201cWe let you\u00a0down,\u201d CEO Barry McCarthy said in a statement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">According to McCarthy, over 37,000 people were able to participate, while it\u2019s unclear how many couldn\u2019t get in. \u201cThe number of members trying to join the ride overwhelmed our technical infrastructure and we were unable to support all those attempting to participate in the class,\u201d he said. The <a href=\"https:\/\/status.onepeloton.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Peloton status page<\/a> notes \u201celevated errors with live classes\u201d for about an hour starting just a few minutes after the class kicked off, and resolving at 11:07AM ET. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/pelotoncycle\/comments\/180s0to\/turkey_burn_ride_date_11232023_time_0900_am_ct\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Some users<\/a> who got into the event also noted technical issues while it was live.
