Former Danity Kane singer Aubrey O\u2019Day<\/strong><\/a> spoke out after Cassie<\/strong> <\/a>settled her rape and assault lawsuit with Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cMoney > accountability. Every time,\u201d O\u2019Day, 39, wrote via her Instagram Story on Friday, November 17, sharing a New York Times <\/i>link to the settlement news. \u201cWelcome to another chapter of the system is well in place \ud83d\udc94<\/span>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Us Weekly <\/i>confirmed on Friday that Cassie, 37, and Diddy, 54, had reached an agreement<\/a> in their legal battle, just one day after the lawsuit was filed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,\u201d Cassie (full name Casandra Ventura) told Us <\/i>in a statement sent via her attorney Douglas Wigdor<\/strong>. \u201cI want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tParas Griffin\/Getty Images While Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs has fervently denied ex-girlfriend Cassie\u2019s rape and assault allegations, multiple women have come forward with similar claims of alleged misconduct by the music mogul. Us Weekly confirmed in November 2023 that Cassie (real name Casandra Ventura) filed a lawsuit against Diddy, accusing him of rape and repeated physical [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Diddy also released a statement on Friday night. \u201cWe have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best,\u201d he wrote in a statement shared with Us<\/i>, signing the note with his \u201cLove\u201d nickname.<\/p>\n

Cassie, who dated Diddy on and off from 2007 to 2018, had named the music mogul in a lawsuit<\/a> filed on Thursday, November 16. According to court documents obtained by Us<\/i>, Cassie accused Diddy of rape and repeated physical abuse<\/a> that lasted for nearly a decade. Diddy denied all claims.<\/p>\n

\u201cMr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations<\/a>,\u201d Diddy\u2019s lawyer Ben Brafman<\/strong> told Us <\/i>in a statement. \u201cFor the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Ventura\u2019s persistent demand of $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail. Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs\u2019s reputation and seeking a payday.\u201d<\/p>\n

O\u2019Day was a vocal advocate of Cassie<\/a> and supported her coming forward.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Day, for her part, first met Diddy when she auditioned for his MTV series Making the Band 3<\/i>, when Danity Kane was formed with her, Dawn Richard<\/strong>, Shannon Bex<\/strong>, D. Woods<\/strong> and Aundrea Fimbres<\/strong>. The girl group was signed to Diddy\u2019s label Bad Boy Records, but he kicked O\u2019Day out in 2008<\/a>. At the time, Diddy claimed there was no bad blood with O\u2019Day.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Day later alleged during a 2022 episode of the \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d<\/a> podcast that she was fired because she \u201cwasn\u2019t willing to do what was expected of [her] \u2014 not talent-wise, but in other areas.\u201d (Diddy did not respond to her claims at the time.)<\/p>\n

On Saturday, November 18, O\u2019Day continued to share her thoughts on the settlement via X (formerly Twitter)<\/a>.<\/p>\n
