Sharon Osbourne<\/strong><\/a> stopped taking Ozempic a \u201cwhile\u201d ago, but she claims she\u2019s still having trouble gaining her weight back.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m too gaunt and I can\u2019t put any weight on,\u201d Osbourne, 71, told the Daily Mail<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on Friday, November 17. \u201cI want to, because I feel I\u2019m too skinny. I\u2019m under 100 pounds and I don\u2019t want to be. Be careful what you wish for.\u201d<\/p>\n

Osbourne explained that she started taking Ozempic, a semaglutide injection that lowers blood sugar, in December 2022. \u201cI\u2019ve been off it for a while now, but my warning is don\u2019t give it to teenagers, it\u2019s just too easy,\u201d she added. \u201cYou can lose so much weight, and it\u2019s easy to become addicted to that, which is very dangerous. I couldn\u2019t stop losing weight and now I\u2019ve lost 42 pounds and I can\u2019t afford to lose any more.\u201d<\/p>\n

Osbourne previously opened up about the harsh side effects<\/a> she experienced while taking Ozempic, which has become popular for its off-label use as a weight loss drug. \u201cI was very sick for a couple of months,\u201d she said during a May episode of the U.K.\u2019s The Talk<\/em>. \u201cThe first couple of months, I just felt nauseous. Every day I felt nauseous, my stomach was upset, whatever.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tOzempic has become a hot topic when it comes to weight loss \u2014 with some stars confirming they have used the drug while others denied it. Chelsea Handler admitted during a January 2023 episode of the \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d podcast that she unknowingly took the Type 2 diabetes medication, which is traditionally used to improve [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She noted at the time that she took Ozempic for four months. Her appetite returned after she stopped taking the drug, but she said it became hard for her to gain weight no matter what she ate. \u201cI eat normally now, and I haven\u2019t put on a pound. Nothing,\u201d she claimed.<\/p>\n

Osbourne is one of many celebrities to speak out about Ozempic and similar drugs in recent months, with some \u2014 including Dolores Catania<\/strong> and Emily Simpson<\/strong> \u2014 crediting the medication with helping them lose weight. Others have said they experienced side effects like the ones Osbourne described.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike a year ago, I tried it. I was one of those people that felt so sick and couldn\u2019t play with my son,\u201d Amy Schumer<\/strong> said during a June appearance<\/a> on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen<\/em>. \u201cI was so skinny and he\u2019s throwing a ball at me and [I couldn\u2019t respond].\u201d<\/p>\n
