Audrina Patridge\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> 15-year-old niece Sadie Loza\u2019s<\/a> cause of death has been revealed.<\/p>\n

The Orange County Sheriff\u2019s Department\u00a0confirmed to multiple outlets on Wednesday, November 15, that the teen\u2019s cause of death was a narcotic overdose. TMZ<\/a> was first to report the news.<\/p>\n

Authorities told People<\/em><\/a> on Wednesday that \u201cthere is still an open investigation to determine if there are any possible criminal charges.\u201d<\/p>\n

Patridge, 38, confirmed in February that Sadie had passed away just one week after her 15th birthday.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy heart hurts to even write this. My beautiful niece is now in heaven,\u201d the Hills<\/em><\/a> alum penned via an Instagram tribute<\/a> at the time. \u201cI know Its not goodbye forever, but it is the hardest to say goodbye for now. We will miss you and cherish every single moment we had with you. Rest in peace Say Say!! We love you forever & ever!\u201d<\/p>\n

Sadie\u2019s mom, Casey Loza<\/strong> \u2014 who is Patridge\u2019s sister \u2014 first shared the news via Instagram earlier that day, writing, \u201cSadie Raine Loza has left this Earth for the heavens.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cWriting this was the hardest thing I ever have had to do, not knowing the right words I\u2019ll leave you with this, Sadie liked to remind me that the first law of thermodynamics aka (Law of Conservation of Energy) works in all spheres of life. \u2018Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Casey, 37, noted that \u201ctransformation is a better word than death,\u201d adding that Sadie\u2019s story will \u201csave countless lives\u201d and her memory will \u201cnever be forgotten.\u201d She concluded, \u201cRest In Peace you brilliant starseed. You\u2019re with your creator. We will miss you dearly. I love you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Casey and estranged husband\u00a0Kyle Loza<\/strong> welcomed Sadie in February 2008. The parents married in March 2009 before welcoming Sadie\u2019s brother Draven in April 2010. They welcomed another son, Vallon, in October 2018.<\/p>\n

The family previously appeared on Patridge\u2019s\u00a0 2011 short-lived Vh1 reality series, Audrina<\/em>, which ran for 10 episodes and included Audrina, Casey and Kyle as well as their sister Samantha Patridge<\/strong>,\u00a0brother Mark Patridge <\/strong>and \u00a0their parents, Lynne<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Mark Patridge.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In November 2016, Sadie was the flower girl at Patridge\u2019s wedding to ex-husband Corey Bohan<\/strong><\/a>. \u201cI love this picture of My beautiful niece Sadie and I on the dance floor,\u201d Audrina captioned an Instagram photo of her and Sadie at the nupitals. \u201cTrying to teach her some #dwts moves\ud83d\ude1c.\u201d (Patridge and Bohan, 41, were married for two years before their 2018 divorce.
