New Girl<\/em> no more! Hannah Simone<\/strong><\/a> is back with a brand-new series \u2014 but she always makes time in her busy schedule<\/a> to reconnect with her former castmates.<\/p>\n

The ABC star \u2014 whose new sitcom, Not Dead Yet<\/em>, premiered on Wednesday, February 8 \u2014 exclusively gave Us Weekly<\/em> the inside scoop on her daily routine, which includes recording her New Girl<\/em><\/a> podcast, \u201cWelcome to Our Show!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cZooey Deschanel<\/strong><\/a>, Lamorne Morris<\/strong> and I are rewatching New Girl<\/em> and spilling the tea on our podcast,\u201d the Canada native, 42, told Us<\/em> about her early evening plans. That day, \u201cJake Johnson<\/strong><\/a> came on [too], which was a nice mini reunion.\u201d<\/p>\n

When it\u2019s time to curl up on the couch, however, Simone thinks of a current costar \u2014 Lauren Ash<\/strong> \u2014 who gifted her specially-made Not Dead Yet<\/em> pajamas.<\/p>\n

\u201cLauren Ash knows I love pajamas,\u201d the Oldboy<\/em> actress shared with Us,<\/em> revealing that Ash, 40, got her the custom sleepwear \u201cas a wrap gift\u201d after filming the inaugural season of the ABC sitcom.<\/p>\n

On the show, Simone stars as Sam, Nell\u2019s (Gina Rodriguez<\/strong><\/a>) best friend \u2014 who becomes close to their nemesis and boss, Lexi (Ash).<\/p>\n

While Simone\u2019s day is filled with friends and fun \u2014 she begins her mornings by heading to yoga, where she joked with Us that she and her instructor \u201cusually end up laughing for most of it,\u201d an ab workout<\/a> in itself \u2014 her Not Dead Yet<\/em> character is forced to deal with difficult moments in her friendship with Nell.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are the growing moments that happen on this show, which is, \u2018Well, Lexi has changed and grown and been good to me, and you need to give her another chance, just like you\u2019re asking for another chance,’\u201d Simone told TV Insider<\/a> on Wednesday, explaining how her character confronts Rodriguez\u2019s. \u201cThere are moments of maturity that we have to embrace.\u201d<\/p>\n

Interestingly enough, Ash \u2014 who also hails from Canada \u2014 told the outlet that she had never met Simone before joining the sitcom.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was very strange we had never crossed paths, but it felt like it was because we were destined to meet doing this,\u201d Ash revealed. Fortunately for Simone, their close bond resulted in her custom PJs, which she gushed to Us<\/em> were \u201cso comfortable and cute.\u201d<\/p>\n

Not Dead Yet<\/em> airs Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m on ABC.<\/p>\n
