Netflix\u2019s Wednesday<\/em><\/a> introduced viewers to a new version of Wednesday Addams \u2014 and her story is only getting started.<\/p>\n The series, which premiered in November 2022, explores the iconic character (Jenna Ortega<\/strong><\/a>) as she attempts to master her psychic powers at Nevermore Academy while dealing with a killing spree at the hands of a mysterious monster<\/a>.<\/p>\n Ahead of the show\u2019s debut, Christina Ricci<\/strong><\/a> surprised fans when she confirmed her involvement in the show<\/a>. (The actress rose to stardom after appearing in the \u201990s films The Addams Family<\/em> and Addams Family Values<\/em><\/a>.)<\/p>\n During the first season, it was revealed that Ricci\u2019s character Marilyn Thornhill was actually Laurel<\/a> Gates. The teacher decided to seek revenge on Nevermore Academy after her entire family died following their own attempts to take down outcasts.<\/p>\n At the time, creators Miles Millar <\/strong>and Alfred Gough<\/strong> opened up about how they mapped out the rest of the series<\/a>. \u201cFor us, it\u2019s always looking at the future, and when we sit down to create a show, it\u2019s looking at multiple seasons, ideally,\u201d they explained to Variety<\/em>.<\/p>\n
