Taylor Lautner<\/strong><\/a> and his wife Tay<\/strong><\/a> are opening up about their first year of marriage.<\/p>\n The couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary on Saturday (November 11), and commemorated the occasion by hosting their inaugural Lemons Foundation<\/a> gala on Sunday (November 12) in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n At the event, Taylor<\/strong> and Tay<\/strong> revealed the biggest thing they\u2019ve learned over their first year as husband and wife.<\/p>\n They agreed that the main lesson they\u2019ve taken away is that \u201ccommunication is key.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cTaylor<\/strong> and I have very different communication styles,\u201d Tay<\/strong> told People<\/a><\/em>. \u201cAnd so when we do get in a \u2026 I don\u2019t even want to say an argument, because we don\u2019t really argue. But when we do get in a conversation or disagreement, whatever, and we\u2019re talking through it, he knows that I go mute and don\u2019t really speak. And Taylor<\/strong> can process his emotions.\u201d<\/p>\n Taylor<\/strong> weighed in on the couple\u2019s occasional challenges.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is frustrating because it\u2019s like I want to talk about everything right then and there, and get it over with,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I want to know her feelings. I know she\u2019s upset. I\u2019m like, \u2018Just tell me.\u2019 But she just goes blank and she needs to take a step back to take a moment to process and think and realize exactly what she\u2019s feeling. So as soon as we figured out each other\u2019s different communication styles, now it\u2019s a whole lot easier to get through those conversations.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite being told by others that their first year of marriage would be rocky, Taylor<\/strong> and Tay<\/strong> were surprised to discover that their struggles were minor.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve been warned by so many people like family, friends, \u2018First year marriage. You know, it\u2019s the hardest,\u2019\u201d Taylor<\/strong> said. \u201cAnd we were like, \u2018Really? Okay.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Tay<\/strong> added, \u201cWe giggle. We\u2019re like, \u2018When\u2019s it coming?
