\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Emma Heming Willis<\/strong><\/a> is speaking out about her experience with her husband Bruce Willis<\/strong><\/a>\u2018 dementia battle.<\/p>\n The 45-year-old model and entrepreneur has been married to Bruce<\/strong>, 68, since 2009. In March 2022, the Die Hard<\/em> actor retired from Hollywood<\/a> after being diagnosed with aphasia, a form of dementia. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n In Saturday\u2019s (November 11) issue of Maria Shriver\u2019s Sunday Paper<\/a><\/em>, Emma<\/strong> detailed the \u201cguilt\u201d she feels due to having access to \u201cresources\u201d amid her husband\u2019s dementia battle.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I\u2019m able to get out for a hike to clear my head, it\u2019s not lost on me that not all care partners can do that,\u201d she wrote. \u201cWhen what I share about our family\u2019s journey gets press attention, I know that there are many thousands of untold, unheard stories, each of them deserving of compassion and concern.\u201d<\/p>\n Emma<\/strong> also stated that she aims to be an \u201cadvocate\u201d for people who \u201cdon\u2019t have the time, energy, or resources to advocate for themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued, \u201cI want people to know that when I hear from another family affected by FTD, I hear our family\u2019s same story of grief, loss, and immense sadness echoed in theirs.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite the challenges she and her family have been facing, Emma<\/strong> highlighted the importance of having a positive outlook.<\/p>\n \u201cI have so much more hope today than I did after Bruce<\/strong> was first diagnosed,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI understand this disease more now, and I\u2019m now connected to an incredible community of support.
