New York Giants<\/a> quarterback Tommy DeVito<\/strong> doesn\u2019t have plans to move out from his parents\u2019 house anytime soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe decision was made since this level of football is stressful for a rookie, especially from the quarterback position,\u201d DeVito, 25, told ESPN <\/a>reporters ahead of the Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys<\/a> game on Sunday, November 12, adding that his house is also a 12-minute drive to the Giants practice facility. \u201cThere is a lot going on, a lot of meetings. So everything outside of football is handled by my family.\u201d<\/p>\n

The NFL star went on to explain that the decision was a \u201cno-brainer\u201d because his mom takes care of everything<\/a> for him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t have to worry about laundry, what I\u2019m eating for dinner, chicken cutlets and all that is waiting for me when I get there,\u201d he shared with the outlet. \u201cMy mom still makes my bed. Everything is handled for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fellow Giants player Justin Pugh<\/strong> said that DeVito is \u201csmart\u201d for living at home.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is the greatest. You know what, smart,\u201d he joked at the time. \u201cSaving his money. Genius! That\u2019s the one thing I\u2019d say from a financial standpoint. Your mom helping with your wash, making sure you\u2019re up on time, no distractions, unbelievable.\u201d<\/p>\n

DeVito, who played in Sunday\u2019s game due to starting quarterback Daniel Jones<\/strong> and backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor\u2019s<\/strong> injuries, was born and raised in Cedar Grove, New Jersey<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After a successful high school football career, DeVito committed to Syracuse University and started playing in the 2018 season. Four years later, he transferred to the University of Illinois where he was named the starting quarterback.<\/p>\n

In April, DeVito was signed to the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent, however, four months later he was waived and resigned to the practice squad. (According to Sportskeeda<\/a>, a practice squad is a \u201creserve team\u201d of players that are available to step into the 53-man roster if needed.)<\/p>\n

DeVito joined his team on the field for the first time in October as they went head-to-head against the New York Jets<\/a>. Although the Giants ended up losing, DeVito scored the team\u2019s only touchdown bringing the score to 10-13.<\/p>\n

\u201cWish it would\u2019ve ended better to fulfill those emotions, but the little kid in me is smiling right now that I got to play in an NFL game and really in a meaningful NFL game,\u201d DeVito told reporters following the game. \u201cI just wish the outcome would\u2019ve been different.\u201d<\/p>\n
