Yesterday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sagaftra.org\/sag-aftra-national-board-approves-tentative-agreement-recommends-ratification-2023-tvtheatrical\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SAG-AFTRA announced<\/a> that its national board has approved the agreement, 86 percent to 14 percent, and recommended union members vote to ratify it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">The deal is still technically pending until union members\u2019 vote is tallied on December 5th, though the guild says some of its features will go into effect during the ratification process, such as certain pay raises. She detailed the back-and-forth that saw the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers continually refusing the guild\u2019s demands. She said the studios \u201cheard that something had to be done, or this was not going to end well. So they worked internally to come up with some kind of modality\u201d that would work for all of the studios \u2014 the bonus structure. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">Drescher continued, saying that although the guild \u201cknew that that wasn\u2019t going to accomplish what we needed to accomplish,\u201d she had to \u201cwrap my mind around the fact that  we needed to make this work if we were going to get into another pocket.\u201d Ultimately, she said, \u201cwhat mattered is that we got into another pocket and we did.
