Pretty Little Liars<\/em><\/a> followed the lives of five best friends who receive threatening messages from a mysterious person named \u201cA\u201d \u2014 but it was their onscreen romances that really had fans talking.<\/a><\/p>\n

In 2010, Freeform introduced the teen drama based on the book series of the same name written by Sara Shepard<\/strong><\/a>. The love story between Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale<\/strong><\/a>) and Ezra Fitz (Ian Harding<\/strong><\/a>) was a major topic of conversation due to their age difference.<\/a><\/p>\n

Ahead of the show\u2019s finale, Harding weighed in on his approach to the \u201ctaboo\u201d romance<\/a>. \u201cFor me, there wasn\u2019t a lot to get over. You just said, \u2018OK, well, this is a love story.\u2019 It\u2019s made easier by the fact that Lucy Hale is a very beautiful, 20-something-year-old woman,\u201d he told Glamour<\/em> in May 2017. \u201cYou just play the love of these two people, and it\u2019s the same sort of trials and tribulations that some relationships have.
