According to a report from CNBC<\/a>, Google employees are calling the launch of the AI chatbot \u201crushed\u201d and \u201cbotched\u201d in posts across the company\u2019s internal message boards, with many targeting CEO Sundar Pichai.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cDear Sundar, the Bard launch and the layoffs were rushed, botched, and myopic,\u201d one user wrote a heavily upvoted post seen by CNBC, which refers to last month’s job cuts that eliminated 12,000 workers<\/a>. Other Googlers reportedly posted memes comparing the past year at Google to a dumpster fire, while another employee said \u201cpushing Bard to market in a panic validated the market\u2019s fear about us.\u201d Google\u2019s stock took a pretty big blow<\/a> after news about Bard\u2019s error started going around, losing nearly $100 billion<\/a> of its market value in just one day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Google\u2019s ChatGPT competitor won\u2019t see wider availability for weeks, but with Microsoft planning to upend web search<\/a> with a bot that can provide annotated answers to various types of queries, it\u2019s no wonder that Google \u2014 which is arguably the king of search \u2014 decided to show off Bard now, even if it was a tad earlier than expected.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
