What a warlord looks like. Melanie Lynskey<\/strong><\/a> clapped back after Adrianne Curry<\/strong><\/a> questioned whether she\u2019s the right person to play Kathleen on The Last of Us<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The drama began when the America\u2019s Next Top Model<\/em><\/a> winner, 40, tweeted, \u201cHer body says life of luxury \u2026 not post apocolyptic [sic] warlord. Where is [The Terminator<\/em> star] Linda Hamilton<\/strong><\/a> when you need her?\u201d A screenshot of the since-deleted tweet included a photo of Lynskey, 45, but Curry claimed in a separate tweet<\/a> that she wasn\u2019t the person who posted the picture.<\/p>\n

In response, Lynskey shared a screenshot of the photo and Curry\u2019s tweet, noting that the snap doesn\u2019t show her in character<\/a> as Kathleen. \u201cFirstly- this is a photo from my cover shoot for InStyle<\/em> magazine, not a still from HBO\u2019s The Last of Us<\/em>,\u201d the Yellowjackets<\/em><\/a> star tweeted<\/a> on Wednesday, February 8. \u201cAnd I\u2019m playing a person who meticulously planned & executed an overthrow of FEDRA. I am supposed to be SMART, ma\u2019am. I don\u2019t need to be muscly<\/a>. That\u2019s what henchmen are for.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Heavenly Creatures<\/em> actress made her Last of Us<\/em> debut during the Sunday, February 5, episode of the HBO drama, playing a new character who did not appear in the video game on which the show is based. Viewers haven\u2019t yet learned a lot about Kathleen, but she\u2019s seemingly the leader of a resistance faction fighting the government\u2019s control of American cities following the cordyceps outbreak.<\/p>\n

After Lynskey\u2019s response, Curry claimed<\/a> that the New Zealand native had altered her original tweet. \u201cShe edited out my tweet where I said she had a perfect hour glass frame that I did not associate with warriors. Actors taking character criticism as personal attacks is mind blowing,\u201d the My Fair Brady<\/em> alum wrote on Wednesday, adding in a separate tweet<\/a>: \u201cShe cropped out what I said about her perfect hour glass frame being the most desirable to men. Seems quite manipulative. Also, she is NOT her character.\u201d<\/p>\n

When other social media users questioned Curry, she doubled down, writing<\/a>: \u201cCurvaceous babes aren\u2019t a thing in post apocalyptic scenarios. People are working hard and starving. This is a fictional character! Fiction!\u201d<\/p>\n

In a recent interview, Lynskey said she was happy her character can\u2019t be compared to a video game counterpart. \u201cI know how committed the fandom is,\u201d the Castle Rock<\/em> veteran told Variety<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on Sunday. \u201cPeople can be like, \u2018That doesn\u2019t look like the person I imagined!\u2019 So, I was grateful to not have that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Emmy nominee added<\/a> that some fans may wonder why Kathleen is there because she wasn\u2019t in the game, but Lynskey isn\u2019t too worried about it. \u201cNone of that is my responsibility,\u201d she explained. \u201cI\u2019m there because I trust [cocreator] Craig [Mazin]<\/strong>. And Neil [Druckmann]<\/strong> is also so brilliant, and was the creator of the game, and he\u2019s on board and signing off on every decision.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
