A24 is set to tell the tragic tale of the Von Erichs in The Iron Claw<\/a><\/strong><\/em>. Starring Zac Efron<\/a><\/strong> (Kevin Von Erich) and Jeremy Allen White<\/a><\/strong> (Kerry Von Erich), The Iron Claw<\/em> will bring audiences inside the territory wrestling scene of the 1980s. It will feature fictionalized versions of iconic wrestlers like Ric Flair (Aaron Dean Eisenberg<\/strong>) and The Sheik (Chavo Guerrero Jr.<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

On December 22, The Iron Claw<\/em>, the story of the Von Erich family, will premiere in theaters. The Von Erichs were positioned as a wrestling dynasty but became one of the most tragic stories in wrestling history.<\/p>\n

Speaking to EW<\/a><\/em>, stars Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, and Harris Dickinson shone some light on how they prepared for their roles in The Iron Claw<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was blown away on the first day that you guys came to work,\u201d Efron said to his co-stars. \u201cYou were jumping off ropes and doing huge hits.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had some time [training] in LA,\u201d White replied. \u201cBut I don\u2019t know, Zac, I never saw you not good at anything.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have some pretty funny iPhone footage of us seeing our wrestling for the first time,\u201d Efron added.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was like, \u2018Oh, that\u2019s what it looks like,’\u201d White replied. \u201c\u2018Got some work to do.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt like I was complaining a lot throughout the process, but it did hurt,\u201d Dickinson added. \u201cIt\u2019s harder when you can\u2019t squeeze someone\u2019s head for real, so you have to create the idea that you are inflicting pain with just the squeeze of your hand and the shake. After a while, your forearms are cramping up, and you feel silly, like \u2018My arm! I can\u2019t do this anymore!’\u201d<\/p>\n

While a bulk of The Iron Claw<\/em> cast was trained from scratch, the film did have a couple of seasoned veteran wrestlers among its ensemble. AEW World Champion MJF and AEW star Ryan Nemeth<\/strong> will have supporting parts in the project. Wrestling legend Chavo Guerrero Jr.<\/strong> is set to play The Sheik.<\/p>\n

After getting a taste of what the sports entertainment business is like, Efron, White, and Dickinson are all ready to try their hand at professional wrestling for real.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, I would jump in,\u201d White said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would love to,\u201d Dickinson agrees. \u201cDo you remember at the end of the shoot? We were like, \u2018Should we try and do this for real?’\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe went to [director] Sean [Durkin] and were like, \u2018Sean, call them! Tell them we\u2019re ready!’\u201d White recalls.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, call WWE!\u201d Efron added. \u201cSay we\u2019re going to do it!\u201d<\/p>\n
