The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes<\/strong><\/em> is nearing its theatrical release, and author Suzanne Collins<\/strong><\/a> is giving her seal of approval!<\/p>\n The Hunger Games<\/em> prequel movie, based on Suzanne<\/strong>\u2018s 2020 novel of the same name, is directed by Francis Lawrence<\/strong><\/a>, who helmed three of the four previous films in the franchise.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out what Suzanne had to say about the film\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n In a thread on X<\/a>, formerly known as Twitter, The Hunger Games<\/em>\u2018 official account shared a letter to fans written by Suzanne<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The letter began: \u201cAs the WGA strike has concluded, I\u2019ve been able to view the final cut of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes<\/em>, and I\u2019m thrilled to recommend it.\u201d<\/p>\n Suzanne<\/strong> continued: \u201cThe book was an attempt to explore the state of nature debate through the tale of young President Snow while lifting the veils on the origin of the Hunger Games, which were not only designed to punish the districts but to remind the audience of human beings\u2019 essential character. And I need to begin with a huge thank you to everybody involved in the making of this film, you\u2019ve done an incredible job bringing this story to life!\u201d<\/p>\n She also acknowledged being \u201ca little nervous\u201d prior to watching the film, but her anxiety \u201cmelted away\u201d from the start of Francis<\/strong>\u2018 adaptation.<\/p>\n \u201cHe takes command of the piece with such surety, leading the viewer into a dynamic and visually arresting telling of the story,\u201d Suzanne<\/strong> wrote.<\/p>\n The author additionally praised producers Nina Jacobson<\/strong><\/a> and Brad Simpson<\/strong><\/a>, as well as the movie\u2019s writers, music department, designers, and of course, its \u201csensational\u201d cast.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have a wonderful ensemble led by beautifully-layered performances from our conflicted snake, Tom Blyth<\/strong><\/a>, and our siren-voiced songbird, Rachel Zegler<\/strong><\/a>, with fabulous turns by Viola Davis<\/strong><\/a>, Peter Dinklage<\/strong><\/a>, Hunter Schafer<\/strong><\/a>, Josh Andres Rivera<\/strong><\/a>, Fionnula Flanagan<\/strong><\/a> and Jason Schwartzman<\/strong><\/a>. The entire troupe lifts the characters from the pages and embodies their complicated, soulful, hungry selves with intelligence, compassion, and flair,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n Suzanne<\/strong> concluded her letter with a message to fans reading: \u201cOnscreen and off, The Hunger Games don\u2019t exist without an audience. Thanks to those of you who read the books, see the films and continue the journey we began years ago in District 12.
