Anyone using Discord to host files will want to change that, as links to those files will begin to refresh every 24 hours by the end of this year. The company told Bleeping Computer<\/em><\/a> <\/em>that doing so will help the company fight malware spreading on its platform since that gives it more ability to \u201crestrict access to flagged content.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n According to the article, Discord says the change won\u2019t affect anyone sharing content on the platform, as links within the client will be refreshed automatically. However, links shared outside of Discord won\u2019t work a day after they\u2019re regenerated. The company said that it will share more \u201cin coming weeks\u201d with developers, who \u201cmay see minimal impact.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n As Bleeping Computer<\/em> notes, cybersecurity company Trellix reported<\/a> it had \u201cfound around 10,000\u201d malware samples distributed online that were stored on Discord\u2019s content delivery network (CDN). Attackers, Trellix wrote, use the platform\u2019s webhooks to pull data from victims\u2019 computers and drop it into Discord channels run by the attackers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
