Tom Sandoval<\/strong><\/a> and Tom Schwartz<\/strong><\/a> opened up about how the public\u2019s strong reaction towards Scandoval affected them.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a weird thing to be publicly shamed,\u201d Schwartz, 41, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> on Friday, November 3, following the Vanderpump Rules<\/em><\/a> panel at BravoCon. \u201cI was guilty by association or however they want to frame it, but it was very bizarre at times. I could appreciate the absurdity of it, but other times it was very sad and kind of terrifying.\u201d<\/p>\n

Schwartz teased that at some point in the future, he and Sandoval, 40, will be able to \u201cgo back and look\u201d at all the DMs they received at the height of the scandal.<\/p>\n

Earlier that day, Us<\/em> confirmed that Sandoval was repeatedly booed<\/a> during the reality series\u2019 panel during the first day of BravoCon<\/a> in Las Vegas \u2014 which goes until Sunday, November 5. While on stage, moderator Karamo Brown<\/strong><\/a> asked the cast<\/a> \u2014 which included Ariana Madix<\/strong><\/a>, Katie Maloney<\/strong><\/a>, Lala Kent<\/strong><\/a>, James Kennedy<\/strong><\/a> and Scheana Shay<\/strong><\/a> in addition to Schwartz and Sandoval \u2014 if anyone was nervous to be there. Sandoval subsequently raised his hand, leading to a negative reaction from the crowd.<\/p>\n

The third annual convention kicked off in Las Vegas on Friday, November 3, with more than 150 Bravolebrities appearing at Caesars Forum throughout the weekend. \u201cI predict chaos. I predict people overdrinking and being overserved [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While the panel ultimately went how Sandoval expected it to go, he joked to Us<\/em> that it \u201cfelt great\u201d to get booed by the audience.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt gives you a little dose of reality [for] lack of a better term really,\u201d Sandoval exclusively told Us<\/em>. \u201cSort of keeps you grounded. I dunno.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sandoval cemented himself as a reality TV villain earlier this year when news broke in March that he was having a months-long affair with costar Raquel Leviss<\/strong><\/a> while he and Madix, 38, were dating. Sandoval and Madix called it quits after nine years in the wake of the scandal famously dubbed Scandoval.<\/p>\n

The public scrutiny was so bad that Sandoval confessed to Us that he thought about not returning to VPR<\/em> after he wrapped up season 10 but ultimately decided to stay on the series for the next season.<\/p>\n
