The Bulgarian producer of an espionage thriller \u201cClassified,\u201d sued\u00a0Abigail Breslin, alleging that her \u201chysterical\u201d and \u201cimaginary\u201d allegations against co-star\u00a0Aaron Eckhart\u00a0have imperiled the film\u2019s release.<\/p>\n
Eckhart plays a hitman who learns that his CIA handler has been dead for years.
Breslin plays his daughter.<\/p>\nThe entire production \u201calmost ground to a halt\u201d when Breslin accused Eckhart of \u201caggressive, demeaning and unprofessional\u201d behavior on set. Breslin alleged that his behavior \u201cplaced her at various times in peril,\u201d and she refused to be alone with him in several scenes.<\/p>\n
Breslin filed a complaint to SAG-AFTRA \u201csetting forth her fears and blasting Eckhart\u2019s behavior<\/i>,\u201d
Her representative said\u00a0that she has not yet been served with the lawsuit, and stands by her allegations.
\u201cMs. Breslin categorically denies all contended allegations and unequivocally stands by her statement which\u00a0she\u00a0confidentially\u00a0provided to SAG<\/i>,\u201d <\/p>\n
In order to complete the film, the producer was forced to make costly accommodations, at least $80,000.
The film\u2019s on-set producer was compelled by SAG-AFTRA set safety rules to prepare an investigative report on the claims.
\u201cHis investigation found no evidence in support to (sic) Breslin\u2019s wild, hysterical and imaginary allegations against Eckhart,<\/i>\u201d <\/p>\nBreslin has since refused to sign her long-form contract, and has insisted on extra money to do so. Without Breslin\u2019s signature, the producers have found it difficult to distribute the film, and are also unable to claim a tax credit from the Maltese government.
