Fintech giant Klarna<\/a> has reached an agreement with workers that were set to strike next week, the company told TechCrunch today.<\/span><\/p>\n Klarna employees were planning to strike next week in the fintech\u2019s home country of Sweden, as reported by <\/span>tech.eu<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The dispute was reportedly over the lack of a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) \u2014 <\/span>a written legal contract between an employer and a union representing the employees<\/span>. Nearly 90% of all employees in Sweden are covered<\/a> by terms and conditions of various CBAs, but Klarna employees were among the 10% that were not.<\/span><\/p>\n Via email, Klarna CEO and co-founder <\/span>Sebastian Siemiatkowski told TechCrunch on Friday that \u201cafter an intense week of negotiations,\u201d the company had reached an agreement<\/span> to join the Banks Employer Organisation by January 1, 2024. The company also reached an agreement with the union Finansf\u00f6rbundet \u201cto sign a CBA that will also include members of all unions belonging to the central organization Saco.\u201d Saco is the Swedish Confederation of Professional Associations. According to its website<\/a>, it has nearly 1 million members.<\/span><\/p>\n Siemiatkowski added that during the negotiations, Klarna had a particular focus on the collaboration agreement, \u201cwhich regulates how we will work together.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI am pleased that we have reached an agreement that combines Klarna\u2019s agility with the clarity of the Swedish model.
