Danny Devito is in a \u201cgrandpa\u201d WhatsApp group with Bruce Springsteen<\/p>\n
The 78-year-old \u2018Twins\u2019 actor became a grandparent for the first time in April with his estranged wife Rhea Perlman, 75, while singer Bruce 74, became a grandad in 2022.<\/p>\n
Danny told GQ about his friendship with rocker Bruce: \u201cWe\u2019re in the grandpa group chat.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe met in the \u201980s and we became friends. I\u2019m a groupie. I love to go to his shows.\u201d<\/p>\n
Referring to Bruce being hit with a peptic ulcer in October, Danny added: \u201cI went to see him just before he got his bellyache, and I was lucky to see a great show in New Jersey at the MetLife Center.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd I\u2019ve seen him in other countries if I\u2019m around and it\u2019s happening. He\u2019s the sweetest guy, and Patti (Scialfa \u2013 Bruce\u2019s wife) is great, and they have great kids.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd we have a new thing in common besides Asbury Park or our love for the Garden State: we both became grandparents recently\u2026 we\u2019re in the grandpa group chat.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cHe\u2019s proud. I just saw him Sunday night at the New Jersey Hall of Fame. He\u2019s the proud grandpa, and I am too.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBruce released a statement last month saying he was continuing to \u201crecover steadily from peptic ulcer disease over the past few weeks and will continue treatment through the rest of the year on doctor\u2019s advice\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nIn July 2022, Bruce\u2019s wife of 32 years Patti, 70, announced they had become grandparents for the first time after their son Sam had a daughter called Lily.<\/p>\n
\nDanny\u2019s ex-wife Rhea told in June on the \u2018Wiser Than Me\u2019 podcast with Julia Louis-Dreyfus, 62, she and Danny were now grandparents.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: her \u201cchildren have grown\u201d and added: \u201cOne of them had a grandchild,\u201d adding: \u201cIt just happened seven weeks ago. It\u2019s amazing. Everybody said it\u2019ll change your life when you have a grandchild, and it does.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\u2018Cheers\u2019 and \u2018Barbie\u2019 actress Rhea did not reveal which of her and Danny\u2019s three children has become a parent, but said their grandchild was a girl called Sinclair Lucille DeVito.<\/p>\n
\nRhea added: \u201cThey kept the name DeVito even though she\u2019s married and her husband is not DeVito, but that\u2019s what they chose.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe actress and Danny started dating in 1971 and married in January 1982.<\/p>\n
\nThey separated in October 2012 after 30 years of marriage and more than 40 years together, and later reconciled in March 2013.<\/p>\n
\nThe couple \u2013 who split again in March 2017 \u2013 have son Jacob, 34, as well as daughters Grace, 37, and 39-year-old Lucy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
