Ashanti<\/strong><\/a> fulfilled one of her boyfriend Nelly<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s childhood wishes for his 49th birthday by giving the rapper his dream car.<\/p>\n

\u201cAshanti couldn\u2019t wait to give Nelly the car for his birthday,\u201d a source exclusively tells Us Weekly<\/em>. \u201cShe had been planning this surprise for months and it was such a hard secret to keep. But seeing his reaction made it all worthwhile.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nelly turned 49 on Thursday, November 2. \u201cHe couldn\u2019t believe Ashanti went out of her way to get him this vintage 1962 Impala,\u201d the insider added. \u201cHe was in total shock and overcome with emotion when he saw it. This gift meant the world to him because it had a much more sentimental reason behind it. This was Nelly\u2019s dream car since he was a kid and he couldn\u2019t believe Ashanti gave him such a thoughtful gift. It\u2019s one of the best presents he\u2019s ever received.\u201d<\/p>\n

The twosome are \u201cbetter than ever\u201d after reconnecting earlier this year. \u201cThey feel like their time apart has given them time to mature and grow emotionally and know what they really want out of a relationship,\u201d the source said.<\/p>\n

You showed out shawty!!! Love you @ashanti.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nelly and Ashanti dated off and on from 2003 to 2013. Back in 2015, Ashanti told Meredith Vieira<\/strong><\/a> in an interview that she felt \u201cbetrayed\u201d<\/a> by the \u201cHot in Here\u201d singer.<\/p>\n

The two sparked reconciliation rumors in April when they were spotted holding hands<\/a> at a Las Vegas boxing match. They followed up the appearance in August by singing along to Usher<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s \u201cNice & Slow\u201d in a cozy video<\/a> Nelly shared via his Instagram Story.<\/p>\n

Nelly confirmed their relationship<\/a> the following month. \u201cYeah, we cool again,\u201d he said in a September interview with Philo TV\u2019s Boss Moves with Rasheed<\/em><\/a>. \u201cI think it surprised both of us though.
