More than two weeks after he slipped from his Gettysburg barn and captured the attention of not just the nation but the famous actor himself, Kevin Bacon the pig<\/strong>, has returned home.<\/p>\n The 200-pound Juliana pig escaped his pen a day after he was rehomed and brought to Chelsea Rumbaugh\u2019s farm. He wandered the countryside for 17 days, staying just out of reach of Rumbaugh and her family but interacting with them almost daily, according to the Facebook group \u201cBring Kevin Bacon Home.\u201d<\/p>\n But on Tuesday, Kevin pulled off a Halloween trick for the ages when he decided his time on the lam was over.<\/p>\n Rumbaugh went outside around noon, she wrote, and spotted Kevin in his pen. He had wandered into it on his own, she said.<\/p>\n \u201cI dropped what I was holding and sprinted to the pen, stepped in, and shut the door behind me,\u201d Rumbaugh wrote. \u201cHe had his angry feelings for about 60-90 seconds, then it was over.\u201d<\/p>\n Kevin\u2019s saga started Oct. 14 when he uprooted one of the posts in his pen and took off into the woods, Rumbaugh told the Evening Sun.<\/p>\n Fifteen minutes after busting out of the barn, he was spotted at a nearby campground. Later that day, five people closed in on him while he munched on some strategically placed food. Rumbaugh\u2019s 16-year-old son got so close he could touch Kevin, they wrote on Facebook, but to no avail. Kevin took off again.<\/p>\n \u201cHe really just wanted to get out and explore,\u201d Rumbaugh said in an interview with PennLive. \u201cHe is really testing his limits.\u201d<\/p>\n What followed was quite the elaborate game of hide and seek. Rumbaugh tried numerous ways to locate and lure Kevin home \u2014 from traps to drones to Benadryl-laced sticky buns. Kevin would visit home almost daily, Rumbaugh wrote, but stayed just out of arm\u2019s reach.<\/p>\n The Facebook page dedicated to Rumbaugh\u2019s search for Kevin amassed more than 2,100 followers. It even reached the actor Kevin Bacon, who weighed in on his Threads account last weekend by posting, \u201cBring Kevin Bacon home!\u201d<\/p>\n Following his return, Rumbaugh told the Evening Sun<\/em> her first priority is Kevin\u2019s health. She also reinforced his pen with concrete to keep him from tunneling out again, reports said.<\/p>\n \u201cIt feels so good to have him back, and it feels even better that we did it so slowly and by making him comfortable first and trying to build that trust with him,\u201d Rumbaugh told CBS 21<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m just so relieved we did it that way.\u201d<\/p>\n
